The wrapper features a young girl (an illustration by Everest creative Maganlal Daiya back in the 1960s). Parle-G is a small, rectangular, sweet biscuit made from wheat and milk. It was first sold in 1947, after India's independence, as an alternative to British products. The "G" in the name originally stood for "glucose" but was later changed to "genius".
